Franchisee Agreements - Term, Usually 10 Years.

Franchises are long term commitments, so, what happens if your circumstances change?. You will find it difficult to get out of your agreement. Franchise agreements are usually over 50 pages in length, these outline your duties, obligations, payments as a franchisee. A solicitor must be appointed and if there is a disagreement to what is written in the agreement you will have little chance of getting the agreement changed. In summing up, the agreement will always sway towards the franchisor, you will have little or no say in any of the decision making processes.

Career Agreement (only applicable if purchasing extras) - Term, month by month, no Minimum

In a Print Magic™ Business Career, it will be necessary to sign a one page agreement. We need this so we are protected in knowing you will not put our name into disrepute and to pay monthly costs within the level you would like to commit to. Examples:- websites, advertising, 1300 number, etc..)

This protects everyone within the structure & makes it a fair for all.

Guarantor - If you fail you can loose everything.

A franchise agreement usually requires a guarantor. This means if your company fails and does not have the assets to pay for its debts or fails to operate within the franchisors guidelines, they will be able to get the guarantors assets. Usually the guarantor is "you" the buyer and therefore all your assets, car, home, etc.. can be lost.

On the other hand, if the franchisor fails, the franchisee can only sue the franchise company not the individuals who run the company. If the franchise company has no assets, then bad luck, you still loose.

No further commitment - If the business doesn't work.

If your Print Magic™ Career does not work, you loose one month of costs & rights to use templates (if purchasing extras) on a commercial level, can still use your printer, inks and paper. You may still operate your business whichever way you want to, but you can only use YOUR name, YOUR designs & things YOU have created. "It's as simple as that."

We used to observe their operating hours, sometimes working in excess of 100 hours per week. So you have go to ask yourself, is the stress & high risk worth the high turnover & employee glory?
