The facts about Dye Inks:-
DYE Inks are mainly made from water & dye. What is important, is that they are highly filtered & that the colour of the dye matches as close as possible to the printers colour profile.
Quality is important but so is price, why pay $20 or more for a set, when in reality your printer heads might exceeded their life, waste ink pads get full or printer has done excessive printing. The printer will need a service and these days it's just not worth it. Think about it. If you pay $20 more for a set of 6 inks and you buy 10 sets of inks for that printer you have lost $200.
How much did your printer cost?, the average is around $200 so you are better off buying a new printer with the savings you have made.
As far as light fastness or UV resistant factors are claimed, DYE inks will fade in light, including GENUINE inks this is because they are made from water & dye. When manufacturers state that their paper & dye inks will last 100 years it is because they must be left in a dark cool place.
